These Commission Terms apply to all custom-made products, fursuit commissions, personalized designs, and digital artwork offered by FurMakers. By placing a custom order with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
These Commission Terms should be read together with our Terms of Service, Refund Policy, and Delivery Terms & Conditions.
COMMISSION PROCESS
Our custom commission process generally follows these steps:

Submission of character references or design requirements

Quote confirmation and order agreement

Payment or deposit submission
-
Placement in the production queue
-
Production stage
-
Completion and shipping
Communication may occur throughout the process to confirm details or provide updates.
PRODUCTION QUEUE
All custom orders are placed in a production queue.
Orders are generally completed in the order they are received. However, production schedules may vary depending on:

project complexity
-
material availability
-
production workload
-
size of the commission
Queue positions may change if certain projects require specialized materials or additional time.
Estimated timelines are provided for guidance only and should not be considered guaranteed deadlines.
DESIGN APPROVAL
For design-based commissions, we may provide a design approval stage before production begins.
Once a design has been approved by the customer:

production may begin
-
major design changes may no longer be possible
Requests for significant design changes after approval may require additional fees or may not be possible depending on production progress.
REVISION POLICY
Minor revisions may be allowed during the design phase.
However:

excessive revision requests may delay production
-
major redesign requests may require additional fees
Once physical production has begun, revisions may be limited or unavailable.
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
Customers are responsible for providing:

accurate character references
-
accurate measurements for wearable items
-
clear and complete design instructions
FurMakers is not responsible for issues caused by incorrect or incomplete information provided by the customer.
Customers must also ensure they have the legal right to use any character references or artwork submitted for commissions.
CHARACTER OWNERSHIP
Customers retain ownership of their characters and original character concepts submitted for commissions.
If FurMakers creates or refines a character design as part of a commission, the customer will receive the rights to use and own that character design unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Completed custom products, including fursuits and commissioned artwork, become the property of the customer after full payment has been received.
CUSTOMER COPYRIGHT RESPONSIBILITY
By submitting character references, artwork, or design materials for a commission, the customer confirms that they own the rights to the character or have obtained permission from the copyright holder.
Customers may not request the reproduction of characters, artwork, or designs that infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others without authorization.
FurMakers is not responsible for copyright disputes arising from materials provided by the customer.
If a copyright issue is discovered, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel the commission.
ARTWORK CREDIT AND PORTFOLIO USE
FurMakers retains authorship credit for the artwork, designs, and craftsmanship created during the commission process.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, FurMakers reserves the right to display completed commissions, including photographs of fursuits, artwork, and design previews, in portfolios, galleries, social media, and promotional materials.
Customers may not claim authorship of artwork created by FurMakers.
PAYMENT TERMS
Full payment or a deposit may be required before production begins.
Submitting payment confirms the customer’s agreement with the project scope and these Commission Terms.
Failure to complete payment may result in cancellation of the commission.
CANCELLATIONS
Cancellation of custom commissions is subject to the conditions outlined in our Refund Policy.
Once production has started, custom orders are generally non-refundable due to the personalized nature of the work.
COMMUNICATION
Customers are encouraged to communicate through our official contact channels.
Delays in customer responses may affect production timelines.
If a customer becomes unreachable for an extended period during the commission process, production may be paused until communication resumes.
REFUSAL OF COMMISSIONS
FurMakers reserves the right to refuse or cancel commission requests at our discretion.
Reasons may include:

inappropriate or illegal content requests

copyright concerns
-
abusive or disrespectful behavior toward staff

violation of our Terms of Service
DISCLAIMER
All fursuits and handmade items are artistic costume pieces intended for cosplay and costume use.
They are not protective equipment.
Due to the handmade nature of these products, minor variations in materials, colors, and details may occur between the final product and reference images.
