FURSUIT CARE & REPAIR POLICY
Last updated: 2026-03-01
This policy provides general guidelines for the care, maintenance, and repair of fursuits created by FurMakers. Proper care helps ensure the longevity and condition of your fursuit.
GENERAL CARE
Fursuits are handmade costume pieces and should be handled with care.
Customers are responsible for maintaining their fursuit after delivery. Improper use, cleaning, or storage may result in damage.
To help maintain the condition of your fursuit:
-
avoid excessive heat exposure
-
keep the suit clean and dry after use
-
store the suit in a cool, dry environment
-
avoid rough handling or excessive force on seams and materials
Regular maintenance can help extend the life of your fursuit.
CLEANING GUIDELINES
Cleaning methods may vary depending on the materials used.
General recommendations include:
-
spot cleaning with mild soap and water when necessary
-
allowing the suit to air dry completely before storage
-
avoiding machine washing unless specifically recommended
Improper cleaning methods may cause damage to materials, fur fibers, or internal structures.
FurMakers is not responsible for damage caused by improper cleaning or maintenance after delivery.
STORAGE
When not in use, fursuits should be stored in a dry, ventilated space.
Avoid compressing or bending structured components such as heads or feetpaws for extended periods of time.
Proper storage helps maintain the shape and condition of the suit.
NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR
Because fursuits are wearable handmade items, normal wear and tear may occur over time.
This may include:
-
minor seam loosening
-
fur matting from regular use
-
small cosmetic wear
These conditions are considered normal and are not manufacturing defects.
REPAIR SERVICES
FurMakers may offer repair services depending on the nature of the damage.
Repair availability will depend on the type of damage and the current production schedule.
Customers may contact us to request a repair evaluation.
REPAIR COSTS
Unless the damage is determined to be caused by a manufacturing defect, customers are responsible for:
-
repair service fees
-
shipping costs related to repairs
Repair pricing may vary depending on the complexity of the repair.
MANUFACTURING DEFECTS
If a manufacturing defect is discovered shortly after delivery, customers should contact us as soon as possible.
We may request photos or additional details to evaluate the issue.
If the issue is determined to be a manufacturing defect, repair services may be provided at no additional cost.
MODIFICATIONS
Customers who modify their fursuit after delivery do so at their own risk.
FurMakers is not responsible for damage caused by third-party modifications or alterations.
